Pixar Pier Opening in Disneyland's California Adventure
Pixar Pier will be opening on June 23rd at Disneyland's California Adventure. Previously known as Paradise Pier, the reimagined land will include four areas (or neighborhoods according to Disney Parks Blog) that highlight the world of Pixar.
Guests enter under the newly designed Pixar Pier marquee topped with the lovable Pixar desk lamp.
The ever popular Toy Story Mania will be the anchor for the Toy Story neighborhood followed by an Inside Out neighborhood! I cannot wait to see what they do for the new family-friendly attraction for Inside Out. My emotions are running wild.
Mickey's Fun Wheel will have a new look with each of the gondolas featuring a different Pixar character. Mickey Mouse's face will remain on the side of the wheel. From what I can tell this attraction will remain the same with swinging and stationary gondolas. I will not be venturing into a swinging gondola again any time soon. You either love it or hate it.
Mickey's Fun Wheel isn't the only attraction getting a makeover. Games of the Boardwalk, midway games, and Stampede game will be rethemed inspired by Pixar characters.
We can all try to catch Jack-Jack on the Incredicoaster. The Incredibles themed coaster will include character figures, lighting, and special effects to join the Parr family as they race to catch Jack-Jack speeding through the coaster.
It is no secrete that I have a special place in my heart for Paint the Night Parade, which will be returning to California Adventure on April 13th! Joining Paint the Night will be a new float dedicated to the Incredibles. Frozone, Violey, Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl all join in the party showing off their special powers. It will be fun to see how they bring the Incredibles into the catchy Paint the Night theme song When Can We Do This Again?
Ariel's Grotto and Cover Bar will become a new lounge and grill. The remaining attractions on the pier, Jumpin' Jellyfish, Silly Symphony Swings, Goofy’s Sky School, Paradise Gardens, The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, and Golden Zephyr will become their own land named Paradise Park.
What is it that makes you excited for Pixar Pier? Will you miss Paradise Pier?
